For all Laser appointments you will need a consultation and patch test. When booking in for a consultation and patch test you will get sent a consultation/ medical form to ensure you are suitable for the treatment. At the in person consultation we will go through your form and discuss your goals for the treatment. We will go through a Kirby Desai scale which helps to determine how many sessions will be required for your desired result.
The patch test for laser tattoo removal/ permanent makeup removal is where we laser a very small area of the tattoo to ensure we have the laser machine on the most suitable setting for your skin type. It also allows us to assess how well the light energy is being absorbed and whether the skin and tattoo pigment will respond as expected.
To book an appointment please contact us through the form.
The procedure is slightly uncomfortable but very quick. Carbon facials are not painful at all.
The lasers we use are all completely safe for your skin and health. The laser energy is selectively absorbed by the tattoo/ carbon ink only, meaning that surrounding tissues are not affected and there is no lasting damage to the skin.
Tattoo removal lasers produce pulses of light energy which breaks down the tattoo ink into tiny fragments, which are absorbed into the bloodstream and safely passed out of the body. Our machine targets all tattoos and colours. At our consultation and patch test we will work out how many sessions are required for the removal of your tattoo and come up with a package that works for you.
Factors influencing the number of sessions:
Ink Colour and Type: Darker colours like black are generally easier to remove, while vibrant colours may require more sessions. Tattoo Size: Larger tattoos may take longer to treat, and multiple sessions might be necessary.
Skin Tone: Lighter skin tones usually respond better to laser treatments, but advanced laser technologies cater to a broader range of skin tones. Tattoo Depth: Professional tattoos are often applied deeper into the skin, requiring additional sessions for removal. Location on the Body: Tattoos on areas with better blood circulation tend to fade faster.
Understanding the Kirby-Desai Scale: The Kirby-Desai Scale is a scoring system used by practitioners to estimate the number of sessions required for laser tattoo removal. It considers six factors which we can go through at a consultation.
Each person is different, some individuals do not receive any side effects but some do. You may experience slight blistering or a burning sensation for the first couple of days but this is completely normal and the body's way of healing. We recommend using Aloe Vera gel and we will talk you through aftercare.
We recommend waiting 6-8 weeks before having another removal session to ensure the skin is healing and the body's natural lymphatic system will still be flushing out the ink during this time.
